Description - Apartment

The apartment’s huge balcony lets you enjoy breakfast in the sun all year round while enjoying the view of Barcelona’s green area Montjuic. On the square across the street locals sip coffee beneath tall trees at the terrace of a popular and trendy Café/Bar called Bar Seco. Apart from the charming neighborhood the newly renovated flat offers all comforts and luxuries - air-condition/heat, Wi-Fi, comfortable and big beds, cotton satin sheets, fully equipped kitchen and a big TV screen. The huge living room makes you feel right at home and has enough space for 4 people to comfortably hang out, watch TV, prepare meals and eat at the large dining table. The spacious bathroom has a big shower and has been decorated in a mixture of minimalist and rococo design.

A few blocks down you can hop on two different metro lines (L2, L4) that take you anywhere in the city. There are also 3 different bus lines that take you to the beach in a few minutes. A cable car takes you up the Montjuic mountain where you can visit the Miro Foundation, the castle or the Olympic stadium. Prefer a bike ride? There is a bike rental in the same street only a few blocks down.

In the pedestrian street Blai right around the corner you can practice bar hopping and the tapas are among the best Barcelona has to offer – try Koska for Basque tapas, La Tieta, Bar Ramon for specialties from the Canary Islands, Lia d’en Vicius, Dine, and many more. At the restaurant Elche you can try a large variety of paellas, or you go for the creative cuisine in an old umbrella factory in Tapioles 52 or you experience the unexplainably good tapas in the busy tapas legend Quimet & Quimet in Poeta Cabanyes. If you fancy a dance, concert or electronic music, then you can continue the nights at the Apolo Theatre.

We live right around the corner and big Poble Sec fans ourselves. We’ll make sure you get to experience the real Barcelona and enjoy your stay in all aspects. And of course, the apartment is one of a kind - chic, minimalist, yet comfy and practical. We put all our love in the decoration of the apartment and hope you will appreciate the details. We speak English, German, Spanish, Italian (and also some French and Catalan).

Check-in is possible from 15:00 and check-out is at 12:00 noon. Once you have made your reservation please confirm your arrival and departure time, so we can arrange to meet you at the apartment. Please consult us for early, late check-ins and check-outs, but we try to be very flexible as long as you inform us in advance.

In case you have extra hours before departing or arrive early, the bike rental down the street also offers luggage lockers from 3, 50 € per day.

There is a 30 € cleaning fee, which needs to be paid cash upon arrival.

The apartment is in a residential building, so during night hours you can't make loud noise.

Neighborhood

Located right in the center on a side street of Las Ramblas, this apartment combines the best of two worlds. You are a short walk from the sea and Las Ramblas, but reside in the trendy district, called Poble Sec, which some call the Soho of Barcelona. Conde Nast Traveller says that Poble Sec has Barcelona’s best tapas bar and recommends it if you want to get to know the authentic Barcelona. It is home to dozens of art galleries, design shops and some of the best tapas restaurants and coolest bars in town.

How to get there

From Barcelona Airport:

Airport Bus

A1 connects Terminal 1, A2 connects Terminal 2.
This bus takes you to Plaza España (you need to get out at the first stop this bus makes), it costs 5, 50 € per person, you buy the ticket directly in the bus. (They don’t accept bills bigger than 20€). If you buy a roundtrip ticket it is a bit cheaper. Then you can either take a taxi from Plaza España to the apartment (should be approx. 5-7€) or take a public bus (D20) until Parallel/Nou de la Rambla or the L4 green metro line until Parallel.
I recommend you take a taxi, but if you prefer metro or bus, it is best to go down to the metro on Plaza España and buy a T10 ticket at the vending machines (credit cards accepted), which will give you 10 rides and it allows transfers (the T10 ticket can be used by various people at the same time, just swipe it as many times as needed).

Taxi

If you take a taxi directly from the airport expect to pay 25 – 30 €. At night, early mornings and on weekends it may be a bit more. Calculate that the airport bus for 2 and a taxi from Plaza España will cost you around 18 €, so if you don’t mind to add an extra 10 €, you will be at the apartment in 20 minutes.

Public Bus 46

This is a public bus and stops at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. It makes more stops than the airport bus and it’s final stop is at Plaza España, calculate 40 min. You buy the ticket at the driver, it costs 2, 20 €. Only problem is that tickets bought in the bus, don’t allow you to transfer to another bus or metro, so if you want to take another bus afterwards, you need to buy a new ticket. If you want to continue from Plaza España by metro or bus, go down to the metro station and buy a T10 ticket. First bus is at 5:00 in the morning and it takes 30 minutes to arrive at Terminal 1.

Train to the airport – Terminal 2

It leaves from the Sants train station (L4 green metro line) or also from Pg. de Gracia. It runs every 20 minutes and it takes 20 minutes to get there. You can use the same metro ticket when going there. From the airport to town, you need to buy a ticket at the vending machines, which costs about 2, 50 €. Terminal 2 is the terminal of the low cost airlines, but most flights come in at Terminal 1. There is a free bus between the terminals that takes about 10 minutes.

Nightbuses

N16 goes to Terminal 2, N17 goes to Terminal 1

Nightbuses run every 20 minutes and stop in front of the Arena shopping mall on Plaza España. It takes 45-60 minutes to get to the airport as they make many stops.

Nearest airport: Barcelona Airport, Girona Airport (40 min. bus ride)
